War of Another Kind – A Strong Nation Part I

After receiving criticism for giving an audience to Leila’s controversial views on empathy, Jennie Z invited Pastor Russell Williamson, a strong empathy advocate.

As the empathy and compassion debate raged on, few were able to see through the surface, to the dangers that lay beneath it.

Wishing to regain some of the ground she had lost with Senator Wilson, Leila turned to her Avatar Counselors again.

Making the case that America’s wealth and strength was being sapped by the poor and unproductive, Wilson moved to create low cost relocation facilities, dubbed “Opportunity Centers”, where the poor could be warehoused and managed, and their costs contained.

To sell his controversial ideas, Wilson cast the nation as being in an epic battle with a formidable enemy, China. A battle that the nation had to win.

And, as usual, Leila was busy selling this philosophy, inside and outside the company

Then, Leila took the next step, to begin attacking anyone who was showing empathy toward the less fortunate
And, a network of anti-empathy churches was already forming, which Leila was anxious to tap into

Wilson knew that selling his case was going to be difficult, so he took his controversial case to the Media, first.
But it would be up to Wilson to ensure that the costs of relocating and managing the poor and homeless were absolutely minimal, so he decided to visit New Liberty, the first center. Managed by Oscar Hamilton.

Shocked to see that New Liberty appeared to be a well funded, well run refuge for the poor and homeless, Wilson decides to confront Oscar Hamilton regarding future costs.

Unlike New Liberty, New Vista was a futuristic Freedom City, where access was by invitation only. So, Forbin reserved a drone taxi for him.

Of course, Senator Wilson was wed to the Opportunity Centers, even if its the fueling the fortunes of New Vista Township. The changes were about to be felt, in the real world.

And, the shutting down of the government grant money is having its unfortunate, intended effect.
